A year after the Woodsboro murders orchestrated by Richie Kirsch and Amber Freeman, Laura Crane, a professor at Blackmore University, was ambushed by her student Jason Carvey, who lured her outside a bar in New York and killed her. Taking his father's knife from the first murder, Sam realizes that they have been locked inside. Wayne calls Sam to tell him that Kirby was fired from the FBI a few months ago. Hypocrisy appears and attacks Chad. As Tara and Sam try to escape, Kirby and Wayne both pull out guns. Wayne shot Kirby, revealing himself to be the third Ghostface and boss; Following him are his sons, who are revealed to be Ethan and Quinn who are still alive. The three revealed that they were Richie's family who wanted to avenge his death. They manage to ruin Sam's reputation online and plan to frame him for their murder. Sam and Tara get the upper hand and fight the Bailey family, where Tara stabs Ethan and Sam kills Quinn. Sam then dons his father's Ghostface costume, taunts Wayne with a phone call using a voice changer, then stabs him to death. Ethan gets up, but Kirby smashes the TV that hits Stu Macher[b] over his head, killing him.
